Defeating Pakistan by 246 runs in the second Test, Sri Lanka leveled the series

 Sri Lanka gave Pakistan a target of 508 runs to win, the national team was bowled out for 261 runs, Babar Azam scored 81 runs for free.

Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by 246 runs in the second and final Test to level the series at one apiece. In pursuit of the target of 508 runs given by Sri Lanka, the Pakistani batting line flopped badly and none of the batsmen except Babar Azam could face the Lincoln bowlers. The whole team was dismissed for 261 runs. .

On the last day of the match being played at the Galle Cricket Stadium, Pakistan started its second innings with 89 runs and two players out. Imamul Haq was on the wicket with 46 runs and Babar Azam with 26 runs. Ramesh became a victim of Mendes. Babar Azam, the captain of the national team, scored a fifty while advancing his score and he was dismissed for 81 runs while Mohammad Rizwan scored 37 runs.

Fawad Alam was run out for one run and Agha Salman was the guest for 4 runs. Yasir Shah was a victim of Jayasuriya by scoring 27 runs. Pakistan’s last player to get out was Naseem Shah who got out for 18 runs. On behalf of Sri Lanka, Prabhat Jayasuriya dismissed 5 players while Ramesh Mendis dismissed 4 players and one Pakistani player was run out. Like the third day earlier, play on the fourth day was also called off prematurely due to low light.

From Sri Lanka’s side, Dinanjaya De Silva played an innings of 109 runs while Ramesh Mendes scored an unbeaten 45 runs. Sri Lankan captain Dimath Karunaratne scored 61 runs and Angelo Mathews scored 35 runs. On behalf of the national team, Naseem Shah and Muhammad Nawaz got 2 wickets each while Noman Ali, Agha Salman and Yasir Shah took one wicket each.

Pakistan were bowled out for 231 in the first innings, giving Sri Lanka a lead of 147 runs before the start of the second innings.


The green cap’s innings was given some support by Salman Agha, who was dismissed for 62 runs, Imam-ul-Haq 32, Mohammad Rizwan and Fawad Alam 24, 24 while captain Babar Azam scored 16 runs. For Sri Lanka, Ramesh Mendis took 5 wickets and Prabhat Jayasuriya took 3 wickets while Asitha Fernando and Dinanjaya De Silva got one wicket each. In the second and final Test of the series against Pakistan, the Sri Lankan team was bowled out for 378 runs in the first innings. Chandimul was the top scorer with 80 runs, Naseem Shah and Yasir Shah took three wickets each.
